Scope

This accessibility statement applies to our online shop. https://vetain.de/ and was implemented with regard to the legal requirements of Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) in connection with the EU Directive (EU) 2019/882 created.

As a company with more than 20 employees and a monthly turnover of over 1 million euros, we are obliged to remove the digital content of our online shop no later than [date]. Accessible from June 28, 2025 close.

Status of compliance with requirements

The online shop is partially compliant with the requirements of the BFSG in conjunction with EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA. compatible.

We are continuously working to improve accessibility in order to provide all users – regardless of physical or cognitive limitations – with equal access to our information and services.

What we are already implementing

• use semantically correct HTML structures for improved readability through assistive technologies
• Alt text for all relevant images and graphics
• Clear page structure and comprehensible navigation
• Color contrasts are taken into account as part of our corporate identity and are continuously reviewed
• The shop is partially responsive and usable on mobile devices
• We implement the requirements of Shopify accessibility guidelines as far as possible
  

Remaining barriers

Despite our efforts, not all areas of our shop are currently fully accessible.

The following points are currently under review or being implemented:

• Keyboard operation: Some interactive elements are not yet fully operable without a mouse.
• Screen reader compatibility: The shop has not yet been fully tested with screen readers.
• Error messages in forms may not be fully accessible
• Zoom capability and text scaling This may lead to display problems on individual subpages.
• There are currently No content in plain language or sign language.
• It stands no explicitly barrier-free contact route available for users with disabilities
• For image-based content, we currently work exclusively with <code>old</code>-Text for screen readers. A semantic supplement through descriptive elements <code>HTML text content</code> directly in the context of image use (e.g. as accompanying text or <code>figcaption</code>This is not yet implemented across the board. However, the switch to a more context-sensitive presentation in the interest of accessibility is being planned.
  
  

Our next steps

We are currently working with an external service provider to fully implement the legally required measures by June 28, 2025.

Plans include, among other things::

• Training the team on creating accessible content
• Expanding our contact options for people with disabilities
• Improved mobile display and zoom function
• Improvement of <code>old</code>-Texts using descriptive <code>HTML text content</code>
