For everyone who is new, a little explanation: What does Habit Tracker actually mean?
A habit tracker can help you bring new – good – habits into your everyday life Or finally getting rid of unwanted habits.
Such trackers come in very different forms: old school on paper, as habit tracker apps, digital habit trackers like the one from Vetain and also habit trackers in many bullet journals. No matter how the trackers come to you, they are all structured similarly: there is usually a table or a type Calendar, in which you yourself new habits, i.e. habits or Goals, register Can. If you think about what Habit Tracker means in German, it makes sense. It means nothing other than habit tracker. What was very important for us: Not every day is a “habit day”. For example, if you're sick, on vacation, or just not feeling "up to it," you shouldn't force yourself to walk 10k steps or do an hour of yoga. Of course, if that's good for you, it's a different matter. But some things just don't have to be that way. If you have such a day, you can remove this day from the overview with one click and it will not be counted. Because when you are sick, your only job is to recover. You can then start habit tracking again.

Speaking of “starting”: Even though resolutions, new habits and everything else that goes along those lines are often associated with the New Year, a new month or even a new week, you really can start at any timeTo track your habits. Because a good habit is always good, whether it starts on a Saturday afternoon or on New Year's Eve. So don't tie yourself to specific dates, but start when it suits you - maybe today?

In order to understand how a habit tracker works and can help you sustainably change your everyday life and your habits, you have to understand how we humans work. Luckily we are really simple in some things. For example, our brain loves habits and routines. The hard part is starting new habits. Because it takes some time until routines really become established and we carry them out automatically.
Habit trackers can support you in this phase:

• Visualization: You can see at any time what you have already achieved and your progress becomes visible - that is incredibly motivating.
• Fixed goals: You record your goals and the individual steps towards these goals. This way you don’t just “try something out”, but you know why you are doing something and how exactly you can achieve your goals.
• Commitment: Doesn't sound cool, but it is. And we make commitment fun by turning it into a game: There are streaks, so you can always see how many days you've been doing a habit in a row. Break your own records and become the streak queen or the streak king!
• Reflection: In the evaluation you can always see exactly when you stop your habits, which habits are more difficult for you and what comes easily to you. This way you know exactly what you can work on again.
• Reward: Checking a box, seeing the percentage go up and turning the day “green” is a real reward for our brain. And feeling rewarded helps us maintain habits.

Habit trackers really work and are a great gadget in your everyday life. Finally, routines are no longer boring tasks, but an exciting challenge.

Vetain's Habit Tracker Template already comes with some suggestions. But we consciously decided against filling in the habits or goals. Because goals are individual, and just because we like to walk 10k steps every day and drink a protein shake doesn't mean that those have to be your goals too. (Although the Protein shakes from Vetain Are so delicious that they are a super easy new habit, just a tip ;))
