High-Protein Pasta Recipe - Vegan Bolognese

Plate of spaghetti with vegan Bolognese made from textured soy protein and fresh herbs

A pasta recipe is simply a must, all the better when it is a high-protein lunch recipe: This turns the Italian classic into a delicious source of protein.
Our pasta provides 42 g of protein per serving! We achieve this by using textured soy protein as a protein-rich meat alternative: Simply soak the pieces in vegetable broth.
Then sauté the onions, garlic, chopped vegetables, and your meat substitute one after another. Add tomato paste or passata, and your sauce is well on its way. For an extra protein boost, mix Vegan Protein Neutral with some of the pasta water and stir it into the sauce.

Tip:
It becomes even higher in protein with lentil noodles. This also makes your meal gluten-free, if that is relevant to you or your guests.

The Best Protein Wraps

Homemade protein wraps made from red lentils, thin and golden-brown

Our homemade protein wraps are simply the perfect all-rounders. With this recipe, you can easily make them yourself, with 9 g of protein per serving.

  1. Wash the lentils and soak them in plenty of water for at least six hours.
  2. Drain the soaking water.
  3. Blend the lentils with 300 ml fresh water and salt until a smooth batter forms. An immersion blender works too.
  4. Heat a little oil in a small pan.
  5. Spread some batter throughout the pan by swirling it around, for thin wraps.
  6. As soon as air bubbles form in the dough, it is time to turn the wrap over.
  7. Turn the wrap over and bake it for at least another two to three minutes on the other side.

Our vegan high-protein pan pizza without yeast dough turns pizza night into a truly protein-rich affair. Instead of classic yeast dough, it uses a protein-rich mixture.
Here's how: Knead all the ingredients into a dough. The neutral Vegan Protein provides an extra portion of protein right from the base. Then top the pizza with sauce and vegan cheese and bake it briefly. Next, add smoked tofu, vegan salami, or whatever else you like as toppings. Bake for another two to three minutes and your high-protein pizza is ready.

Our protein lasagna with wraps is my favorite: It provides 43 g of protein per serving and is perfect for taking with you as meal prep. And it's outrageously delicious too.
The necessary steps are also very straightforward. First, prepare a Bolognese sauce with soaked textured soy protein and fresh vegetables. Add this as the first layer to the bottom of your baking dish. Then add a suitably trimmed protein wrap, followed by some more sauce and a quick and easy homemade protein cream made from protein powder, vegan crème fraîche, and plant-based milk. Repeat this until your dish is nicely full. Sprinkle vegan cheese on top and be patient for about half an hour while the oven does its job.

  4. Then place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and shape it into a pizza.
  5. Let it rest in this form for another 15 minutes.

  3. Deglaze with vegetable broth.
